Summer Field Day Celebrating Dick Rovig – Results

July 17, 2024

What a great day for some golf, hopefully everyone survived the heat. I wish I could have played better, but the sun was shining, and the company was good. A bad day on the course is better than a good day at work or something like that.

A new modern record for attendance at Summer Field Day of 70 was set. The old record was 62 from 2021. Similarly, we now have 523 members in the club, a new record for the 21st Century.

Congratulations to Darin Kudrna (74) and Jonathon Wise (68) for winning low gross and low net, respectively. The winner of the Dick Rovig Mediocre Golfer Award goes to David Langley. This is a prize Dick Rovig instituted for the player in the very middle of the pack on Summer Field Day, just where Dick so often found himself in Men’s Club tournaments. The award is $20 in book money. Past winners can be found Here.

Full Results can be seen HERE.

Also, for the second tournament in a row there were NO PACE OF PLAY penalties. Way to go! Let’s keep that going.

Reminder to not put your name on KP’s (Except for #11) if you have not paid in to the Honey Pots. Also, the tiebreaker used is the USGA (last 9,6,3,1). It takes the best score on the back 9. If there is still a tie, then it would take the score of the last 6 holes, and so on.

Next up is the Six-Six-Six on August 3. The tee sheet is open and guests are welcome. The format is two-man teams with six holes of best ball, six of scramble, and six of alternate shot.
